FSP Member Newsletter 6th Edition

MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR OF THE BOARD

We are nearing the end of another year, a year filled with unexpected twists and turns. And yet, FSP continues to thrive and effectively advance the mission of enriching the careers of our members by sharing the resources of a broad network of Black professionals in the financial services industry. We continue to bring attention to issues impacting Blacks in the industry to ensure that our voices are heard, and our presence is recognized. Programs this year included a welcome reception for new Members of the Congressional Black Caucus; an outstanding program entitled “Remembering Black Wall Street: The 100th Anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre”; and a joint program with the SEC entitled,” Insights into Public Service Careers in Financial Services,” featuring presentations from senior executives at the SEC, NASDAQ, and Citadel Securities. FSP has established itself as a “go-to” resource for Black candidates for positions in our industry, and excellent career opportunities in the public and private sectors are posted on the FSP job board. With the help of CoCo B Productions, we have updated our logo, developed a new sponsorship packet, and enhanced our event marketing flyers. We ended the year with our first in-person event – a Christmas Holiday Meet-up at The Park at 14th. We enjoyed the ambiance and the chance to catch-up with friends and colleagues after nearly 2 years of seeing each other in little boxes on our PCs, tablets, and phones.
