FSP Lauds Historic Confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to be First Black Woman to join the United States Supreme Court

Washington, D.C.–The Financial Services Professionals organization released the following statement on the Senate confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court:

“The FSP organization applauds the Senate confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the United States Supreme Court.  Judge Jackson’s nomination by President Biden to replace the retiring Justice Stephen Breyer means she will soon become the first Black woman on the nation’s highest court.  Judge Jackson brings exceptional judiciary and trial court experience and a voluminous record of opinions.  In addition, Judge Jackson will immediately augment the Court by bringing the unique perspective of a defense attorney, a view often missing during the Court’s deliberations.  Our nation will be well-served by the jurisprudence, presence, and demeanor of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. We celebrate Judge Jackson and, like President Biden, we are “elated” by this historic Senate confirmation vote that elevates Judge Jackson to the highest court in the land.

FSP is committed to diversity and inclusion and looks forward to continuing to work with the Biden-Harris Administration as it fills critical roles in finance, economics, and related fields.”
