Robert Lewis

Robert Lewis is the Founder and CEO of The Van Aucker Group, a bipartisan Government Relations firm based in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Lewis was previously Vice President, Financial Services at the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI), the nation’s leading trade association dedicated to providing products and services that contribute to Americans’ financial and retirement security. As Vice President, he was responsible for undertaking all aspects of lobbying Congress and the Administration on behalf of ACLI on financial service issues.
Prior to ACLI, Mr. Lewis led lobbying efforts at the Financial Services Institute (FSI) as their Vice President of Legislative and Political Affairs for nearly 7 years. In this capacity, he represented over 100 independent financial services firms and 37,000 independent financial advisor members across America.
As his influence and expertise in government affairs has grown, so has his notoriety. REP Magazine (now WealthManagement) named Mr. Lewis “Top 10 to Watch” in the Government Affairs industry. Mr. Lewis has been quoted in various financial publications including Politico’s Morning Money, Investment News, CQ Weekly and National Underwriter.
A native of Rochester, NY, Mr. Lewis holds an undergraduate degree from Morehouse College in political science and a law degree from The Catholic University Columbus School of Law.
