FSP Applauds Confirmation of Shalonda Young to be First African American Woman Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget

Washington, D.C.–The Financial Services Professionals organization released the following statement on the confirmation of Deputy Budget Director Shalonda Young to the Office of Management and Budget:

“The FSP applauds the Senate confirmation of Ms. Shalonda Young to be the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, the obscure yet critically important Cabinet position responsible for distribution, management, and critical oversight of the federal budget.  Ms. Young brings a wealth of experience honed in late night sessions during her work on the House Committee on Appropriations where she served for years as Staff Director, earning respect on both sides of the aisle.  Before joining the Biden-Harris Administration, Young answered the bell as she oversaw the delivery of trillions of dollars in pandemic relief to the American people.  We look forward to working with Director Young and her team as they prepare the President’s budget.

FSP is committed to diversity and inclusion and looks forward to continuing to work with the Administration as they fill critical roles in finance, economics, and related fields.”
