FSP Alarmed by Demise of Historic House of Representatives Office of Diversity and Inclusion

Washington, D.C., — Financial Services Professionals (FSP) released the following statement on the dissolution of the House of Representatives’ Office of Diversity and Inclusion

“FSP is alarmed at the dissolution of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI). ODI, established in 2020, has played a key role in fostering diversity and inclusion within U.S. House of Representative offices. The decision to defund and shutter ODI jeopardizes efforts to create a congressional workforce that reflects America’s diverse communities.

FSP is under no delusions that this decision to strip the office of its funding comes at a time when programs designed to level the playing field for socially or economically disadvantaged businesses and individuals are under deliberate and organized attack.  FSP commends the work ODI has done to advance diversity in Congress and looks forward to a future Congress where a diverse workforce is again prioritized.”

FSP is committed to diversity and inclusion and looks forward to continuing to work with Congress and the Biden-Harris Administration to fill critical roles in finance, asset management, economics, and related fields.
